The best way for any journalist to understand your destination is through first-hand experience. Many are committed to only writing about destinations or events they have actually visited or seen. Thus, press trips or media visits are key components to a successful media relations strategy. The great news: one story can generate interest in your destination or attraction for many years. The even better news? Once they have visited, these hard-working journalists will often keep you as a trusted resource and continue writing about your destination for years to come. The key is, how do you choose the right group?

As your specialist, I am responsible for:
- Vetting African-American Journalists based in the USA / North America (and its' territories) to submit for approval
- Creates a stellar group that aligns with conducive personalities to obtain a friendly and productive trip of a lifetime
- Confirming valid passport status
- Retrieving a signed letter of assignment from the Editor of the publication they will be representing indicating intent to publish their feature or article along with a recent copy of the publication they are writing for
- Guaranteeing the outlets and story angles fit within target market and promotion strategy
- Confirming the agreed amount of Social Media posts from each journalists per day
- Revising itineraries for travel to be client-friendly
- Following up on article submission due dates
The Rashomon Effect
The Rashomon Effect is how the same events can be viewed in completely different ways by different people with different backgrounds, expectations, and experiences. Travel writing and documentation is all about story telling. The Tourism Board and the Land speaks to us, and we become the stories we tell our world. How awesome would it be to have one occurrence with a kaleidoscope of experiences and knowledge to be conveyed?

The Executive Approach to Travel
Wanderlust, a strong desire for or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world. This diagnoses is what explains my condition. As of today I've been to 21 countries outside of the U.S. and counting. It is in my DNA to explore, to wonder but not be lost. My father is a native of Roatan, Honduras and with my mother, they both installed in me the importance of understanding the world by going in the world but not being of the world. Travel is important because it fundamentally transforms us. This experience of waking up to the power of your own transformation fires you up to “be the change you want to see in the world,” as Gandhi puts it.
